steel 1.4301 (AISI 304)
Steel 1.4301, internationally referred to as AISI 304, is one of the most widely used austenitic stainless steels. Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, mechanical properties and hygiene standards, it is widely used in food, medical and industrial production.
Chemical composition:
- Chromium (Cr): 18-20% - provides corrosion resistance.
- Nickel (Ni): 8-10.5% - increases toughness and acid resistance.
- Carbon (C): max. 0.07 % - low carbon content prevents carbide formation and thus corrosion.
- Manganese (Mn): max. 2 % - improves machinability.
- Silicon (Si): max. 1 % - increases strength.
Properties:
✅ High corrosion resistance - resists water, moisture and slightly acidic environments.
✅ Long service life - strong, durable and at the same time sufficiently flexible steel.
✅ Easy to maintain and clean - smooth surface prevents the adhesion of dirt and bacteria.
✅ Good heat resistance - can withstand high and low temperatures.
✅ Does not affect the taste of food - does not contain toxic elements, safe for food use.
Usage:
🔹 Kitchen tools - knives, spatulas, pots, sinks, worktops.
🔹 Pastry and baking supplies - professional cake knives, pastry spatulas.
🔹 F ood industry - storage containers, coolers, pipes for dairies.
🔹 Medical and pharmaceutical equipment - surgical instruments, sterile containers.
🔹 Construction and design - railings, building cladding, elevators.
Maintenance:
- Hand washing is recommended to maintain longevity.
- If machine washable, contact with other metals should be avoided to prevent staining.
- Aggressive cleaning agents containing chlorine (e.g. Savo) may damage the steel.
Stainless steel 1.4301 (AISI 304) is ideal for the manufacture of kitchen, pastry and baking tools due to its durability, hygiene and long service life. Great for professional and domestic use, especially in environments where frequent contact with food and moisture is needed.
