Unfortunately, as the result of concealing the processing of forging the Damascus steel, the secret was lost somewhere around 1750 A.D. and was never completely found again. Today, many craftsmen claim that they re-discovered the ancient processing of creating the legendary Damascus steel – however the lack of evidence make this claims unreliable.
